I care about this because community quite literally helped save my life. As a young person, I was an at-risk youth and relied on many of the same supports people know today: Dans La Rue, food banks, employment services, and youth programs to help me build stability and confidence. I am living proof of what happens when lived experience and community support come together. Today, after more than 10 years as Executive Director of Hear Québec, I see that same transformation every day when people with hearing loss find real connection and peer support.
